Somehow I made a couple errors in the original version of this one… who would expect errors of such a high-quality product like this???!! (Thanks to Stormy for pointing out that Capella Tower wasn’t US Bank tower for very long, I didn’t actually know it was called Capella. And yes, when I refer to it in person, I call it the “UFO landing pad building”.) Comic has been fixed.

This one may need a little explanation (always a sign of a good webcomic: material that no one gets!) If you don’t get it, read on.

There was once a certain outing in which Clockwork, the explorer from Dubuque and host of Clocktoberfest, sailed a built-on-the-spot raft/submarine up a flooded drain. It looked something like this:

See, I’ve already fucked up the reference by forgetting what color the foam was! (I did the comic from memory, of which mine is notoriously bad).

Naturally we had to name this vessel the Red Clocktober, fearing that it would sink or be depth-charged by communist construction workers at any moment. That of course, leads us into yet another Tim Curry reference (Dr. Petrov), which also happens to tie in to Mouser, one of the great Twin Cities Explorers of old, who used to have this awesome collection of drunken voice impressions from a friend on his website, including some good Tim Curry lines (It’s down now, and the files seem to be gone, but this is what the page looked like: http://web.archive.org/web/20030828143223/http://web.mouser.org/evan/#). Then of course there’s SNL’s celebrity jeopardy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1SvsOWQlAA)… and another pointless 5 minutes of your time has been wasted by my out of control free-association comic madness 🙂
